THE COSEKE EXPERIENCE

When I first walked into The Coseke Kenya Limited offices, I was feeling overwhelmed and a little bit lost. This was going to be my new work place. I was scared of messing up, of people not liking me, of not living up to their expectations. I kept playing out all the worst case scenarios; literally hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

What I was not aware of was that, this was going to be my new home. A place I would come to love, appreciate and devote all my effort to. A place where I would find a corporate family, that looks out for each other and will stop at nothing to ensure that the job is not just done but well done. A place that valued my youth, passion and drive. A place where my career would grow tremendously. This has been my Coseke experience.

Curious to know how other people’s experience at Coseke has been, the writer in me went on a mission to interview as many people as I could about their Coseke Experience. What I heard were exceptional, life changing stories that just had to be shared. This was the birth of today’s eye-opening article.

These experiences cover all the Coseke branches in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. We went on to interview management, staff and the interns. It was an amazing journey that enabled us to see Coseke from other people’s eyes.

Coseke is an IT based company that specializes in software design, system integration, record management, archiving, document management, business process automation, content management solutions, training and consultation. It was founded in 1990, by Peter Ngogoseke. He had just come from studying abroad and had seen other IT based companies thriving. It was when he was at home in Tanzania that he decided to give an IT Company a shot and we saw the birth and evolution of the Coseke chain of IT based companies.

The first Coseke Company was established in Tanzania. From Tanzania, the Kenya branch was opened and it was the Kenya branch that facilitated the opening of the Uganda and Rwanda branches.

The name Coseke comes from the name Ngogoseke. Seke according to the Skuma tribe in Tanzania meaning strong while Co stands for company. Thus Coseke- Strong Company

Coseke stands out as a company since it was the first company in East Africa to successfully introduce document management systems to organizations. Their solutions through their experience have built industry centric drives that aid organizations optimize their business processes. They have managed to tap into the youth talent, thus creating opportunities for the youth irrespective of their experience. Their vibrant staff, fast paced work culture, team work that knows no limits, quality of service, uniqueness in their products, services and constant evolution in digitization is no doubt the reason they are on the map.

The exploits that we as the Coseke family love the most about Coseke are the great team, the resilience, stand strong mentality, the energy, the fact that it is headed and run by the youth who are experts in their field, the company relations and the fact that we are one big family constantly growing and evolving.

Coseke being a home for all of us has given some of us the opportunity to learn managerial skills, has taught others to be courageous. It has seen others grow their careers, broaden their way of thinking and network with people from an international platform. Others have acquired skills and are now IT savvy. It has changed people’s lives, molding them into who they are today. However, it has taught all of us the discipline in planning and executing all assigned tasks; thus teaching us to give quality with no compromise.

What keeps Coseke going is the dedicated staff, client relations, the patience and strength of the team. The quality of the solutions they sell their clients, the lack of compromise thereof and above all God’s mercies.

The Coseke culture is that of winning, being your brother’s keeper, resilience, support based, accommodating, social, familiar, ambitious, business driven, always on the move and constantly raising the bar.

Ten years from now we see our Coseke the leader and pace setter of IT solutions, thriving, having moved in on more countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, North and South America constantly evolving and expanding.
